Not all of us are lucky enough to have a vacation, so to avoid dying of boredom, we plan a little trip on the weekend to get some fresh air. So we looked for you at the 5 coolest cities to do in two days.

Where to go for a weekend in Europe?

Weekend in Rome, the eternal city

“Weekend in Rome, both of them without anyone” Etienne Daho sang it. Rome is the ideal city for lovers of romance, culture and gastronomy. The Italian capital is full of things to do and see. You will have to be organized and prepare your itinerary! Take time to stroll through the charming streets, and taste the Dolce Vita.

Culturethe Vatican City, the Fountain of Trevi, the Sistine Chapel, the Pantheon, the Colosseum, the terms, the Borghese Gallery,… Rome has so many historical and popular monuments that it will be difficult to see everything.

Going out: the Trastevere district is very lively, trendy and bohemian. San Lorenzo is a student district, synonymous with cheap bars and grocery stores open late at night. All the young people gather there to celebrate. Testaccio is also a district known for its very festive atmosphere from nightfall.

The important points:

Culture: outside the very touristic and popular places (The Eiffel Tower, the Champs Elysée, the Butte Montmartre, the Louvre,…), go and visit the museums; the Grand Palais, the Palais de Tokyo, the Atelier des Lumières, the Centre Pompidou, the Musée d’Orsay,… But, you can also get lost in Paris and thus come across wonders.

We wrote an article about some unusual visits you can make!

Going out: “Paris is a celebration”, Hemingway is absolutely right. Different districts have a more active night life than others; Pigalle, le Marais, Place de la République, Châtelet les Halles,… But, you can also step on your feet in a techno evening, or rest on the banks of the Seine with a bottle and good friends.

Gastronomy: what can I say? The greatest starred chefs are in Paris, gastronomy is quite an art here.
